Description

An Evening at the Beach Sat., Aug. 15, 4 p.m. Enjoy an afternoon of fishing, building sand castles, and playing games on Jones Park’s beach. Then after the sun sets, take a closer look at the stars, planets, and other heavenly objects with a telescope, roast marshmallows around a campfire, and see what’s buzzing about as park staff use various sampling and catch methods to survey nocturnal insect life. Reservations required beginning Wed., Aug. 5. All ages.

Jesse H. Jones Park & Nature Center, a Harris County Precinct 4 facility under the leadership of Commissioner Jerry Eversole, is located at 20634 Kenswick Drive in Humble. All programs are free of charge and open to the public. Harris County Precinct 4 programs serve people of all ages regardless of socioeconomic level, race, sex, religion, national origin or physical ability. Jesse H. Jones Park & Nature Center, a Harris County Precinct 4 facility, features over 300 acres of pristine primary and secondary deciduous southern forest with a variety of micro habitats including swamps, sloughs, and natural white sand beaches along Spring Creek.
